Meet the Huntress: Laura Hetland

Laura Hetland is the passionate founder and visionary behind Myco & Meli. Her journey began in the lush landscapes of Hawai’i in 2013, where her connection to honeybees first blossomed. This deep appreciation for pollinators and their vital role in our ecosystem inspired Laura to launch The Honey Huntress in 2015, raising awareness about the significance of bees, clean water, and sustainable farming.

As Laura worked alongside bees in Hawai’i, Wisconsin, and Colorado, her journey evolved, particularly after facing her own gut health challenges in 2019. Turning to holistic healing and functional foods, she discovered the powerful synergy between honey and mushrooms. This realization gave life to Myco & Meli—a celebration of her love for nature, wellness, and sustainability.

Through Myco & Meli, Laura brings together her roles as a bee guardian, conservation advocate, and wellness enthusiast to craft products that nourish both personal health and the planet.
